single person is just like another person. Everyone is unique. So,
why do we insist on giving everyone the same gifts? Why are we not
giving unique gifts to these unique people? Of course, the main
reason why we do not give unique gifts is because they are oftentimes
the hardest ones to come up with.
Here are some guidelines and ideas to help you come up with
some unique gifts:
Most importantly, throughout your whole shopping process, you really
must consider the person to whom you are giving the gift. The best
unique gifts are ones that are catered directly to a specific person.
Yes, a piece of pocket fuzz would technically be a “unique”
gift if you wrapped it up and tied a bow around it, but that does
not mean that it is something that anyone would want. Of course,
if you happen to know someone who is collecting a giant pocket lint
ball (like the giant aluminum foil ball on Pee Wee Herman's
Playhouse), then it very well could be the perfect gift.
So, think of what the person likes to do. Perhaps, she likes to
golf. Yes, perhaps she would appreciate a box of golf balls (and
be sure to get the type that she likes!), but golf balls are not
a unique gift. Now, on the other hand, if you buy her a box of golf
balls and have them monogrammed, that is another story. And it is
an entirely different story if you hide in the box of golf balls
a ticket to Scotland to play on one of the first golf courses, ever.
To give a great gift, you need to pay attention to even the littlest
things that a person says. Pay attention to stories that he tells
about his childhood or about his favorite foods, etc. If you can
give a gift that shows that you were listening and that you care,
you have hit the jackpot. For instance, a fantastic and unique gift
idea is a book. Of course, it can not be just any old book. Think
