As
you can imagine, the most popular Mexican
gift baskets are ones that contain spicy foods. After
all, when many people think of Mexico, they think of the great salsas
and hot sauces.
Of course, there are many other great things that can be put into
Mexican gift baskets. Here are some great ideas for if you want
to make your own Mexican gift baskets:
Pinata basket. Instead of using an actual basket for your Mexican
gift basket, consider using a piñata, instead. You can buy
a regular piñata from a party store, then cut off the top
so that the special treats you put in it can be seen. There is no
reason to have to break open this piñata.
Mexican hat basket. Again, why use an actual basket for your Mexican
gift baskets when you can use something more fun, useful, and interesting?
Maracas. A set of maracas can really complete a Mexican gift basket.
Pineapple salsa, by Bandana Bandito. This is a mild and refreshing
salsa that comes in a jar with a fun label with a picture of a bandana
bandito!
Ass Kickin' Whiskey Peppercorn Salsa. How can you go wrong
if you include in your Mexican gift baskets a salsa with a name
like this! Watch out, though, this salsa is good and hot.
Mi Ranchito tortilla chips. If you are including salsa in your Mexican
gift baskets, consider including some tortilla chips, as well. These
chips are made with great corn and cooked to perfection.
Valentina Mexican hot sauce. This hot sauce claims to be authentic
Mexican hot sauce, and we agree. This is not the spiciest hot sauce
out there, but it is one of the tastiest.
Jose Cuervo. An authentic Mexican gift basket ought to have some
authentic Mexican alcohol, and what is better than some tequila?
If you are including tequila in your Mexican gift baskets, you may
also want to consider including margarita mix or other mixes and
ingredients for great tequila drinks.
Corona. Alright, since we are on the subject of alcohol for our
Mexican gift baskets, let us not forget some great beers. Throw
in a few limes for both decoration and for the beers.
Cajeta. Let us not forget some dessert for our Mexican gift baskets!
Cajeta is a delicious caramelized milk that we more commonly call
dulce de leche. It can be used as a spread or as a topping for ice
cream, among other things.
These are just a few ideas as to what you can include in your Mexican
gift baskets. You may want to stick with a theme and include only
hot sauces. Or, perhaps, you will want to include only Mexican drinks
(of the non-alcoholic variety, as well). You may even want to include
enough food items for an entire gourmet meal.
Check out your local Mexican supermarket for more ideas. And remember,
there are plenty of other things, including decorations and more,
that you can include in your Mexican gift baskets. You do not only
have the option of including food!
