make excellent baby
birthday gifts. It does not matter that a baby cannot
read yet, she is still going to love a book as a baby birthday gift.
Babies love to listen to a their mother or father, etc. read a story
to them.
In fact, reading a book to your baby is a very important bonding
time. And babies truly do learn books. Even when a baby cannot speak,
he may very well anticipate what is on the next page of the book;
and he may show his excitement by pulling on his pajamas or gurgling,
etc.
It is important to expose a child to books when still young. You
can tell if a young child has been exposed to books from a very
young age or not… even a child who can say only a few words
can tell if a book is upside down if that child has been read to.
So, if you are wondering what sort of baby birthday gifts to buy,
consider giving a book or two. You may even decide to give a book
paired with another item as a baby birthday gift.
For instance, perhaps you want to give a Peter Rabbit book. Well,
it is also quite possible to find a Peter Rabbit stuffed animal
and a Peter Rabbit baby bowl and other items to go along with it.
Or, perhaps you want to give the “Very Hungry Caterpillar”
by Eric Carle. Some of these books are actually sold with a cute
little caterpillar stuffed animal. Also, some stores have pajamas
and other items that match this book.
Everyone knows that there are tons of Winnie the Pooh items in
abundance to give along with a Winnie the Pooh book. You just need
to decide if you want to give a stuffed animal, board game, clothing,
decoration, or other item along with your baby birthday gift.
You may also decide to find a vinyl baby bath book, and you can
give it with a bunch of bath toys and bath items. Or, you may find
a special story, like Cinderella that you may want to pair up with
items like a pumpkin orange blanket, a princess doll, or the DVD.
As you can see, books make excellent baby birthday gifts. You may
decide to give just one, special book… perhaps one that was
your favorite growing up or the favorite of your child. Or, you
may decide to give the baby a whole library of books to grow into.
And, of course, you may decide to give a baby birthday gift that
centers around the theme of the book like the ones mentioned above.
When choosing baby books, it is a good idea to choose board books.
Board books can hold up to the hands of babies much better. Also,
babies do not have the dexterity that they will start to have as
they grow older. A baby can not turn a paper page: a board page
is much better suited to baby hands.
